Services

Diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, individual therapy and medication management services for adolescents and adults. Many of my patients are part of the LGBTQIA community; however, all are welcome.

At this time, I do not offer individual therapy sessions, as my caseload is full. Additionally, it is recommended that adolescents have an established individual therapist prior to receiving medication management services.

Approach & About

I am an openly queer psychiatric nurse practitioner. My approach to mental health and psychiatric services is holistic in nature, focusing on the mind-body connection and how it impacts physical and mental health. With therapeutic intervention, CBT and DBT skills are explored and encouraged. Further, attachment theory is applied when appropriate. My approach is primarily evidence based practice; however, each individual will respond to different therapeutic modalities, which may not be supported with evidence at this time. I support alternative methods of treatment, and provide education and referrals for those services.

I attended Trinity University in San Antonio, TX for undergraduate studies. My undergraduate degrees include neuroscience and psychology. My master's degree was earned at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2011.

My experience includes child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric services within the inpatient, outpatient, private practice, residential, and emergency department settings. Within private practice, the majority of patients are part of the LGBTQIA community.

My first position was located in Alaska, where I practiced for three years. I worked in the community mental health setting as a child and adolescent psychiatric nurse practitioner. Additionally, I was a provider for the University of Alaska student health center. I moved to Oregon in 2014, where I continue to practice. Currently, I work in the private practice and inpatient settings. I am on faculty as an adjunct assistant professor for OHSU. At this time, I am no longer offering child services within private practice. Psychiatric and mental health services are offered to those who are 14 years and older.

Note: I have a conservative approach to medication management services. I do not prescribe benzodiazepines at this time.
