Approach & About

~The wound is the cure~

Philosophy and Approach: You might be feeling stuck or going through a change and feeling lonely, or not seen. This might be the moment when you reach out. No one needs to do this alone. My approach is rooted in the idea that healing and transformation occur in relationship with trusted others by re-constructing new ways of relating, starting first with the self. My work is guided by my intuition and grounded in my education and experience using a psychodynamic, trauma-informed, attachment- and strengths-based lens.

When you enter my practice you will be greeted with dignity, care, and curiosity. We will work together to build the safety that is necessary for transformation to occur.

Formal Education and Training: I was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii where I began my work in mental health. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and earned a masters degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Community Mental Health from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have training and experience working with Harm Reduction and addiction, attachment, foster and adoption, severe mental disturbance, crisis intervention and planning, depression, and anxiety. I offer child & adolescent therapy, adult therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy.

I have expertise working with Queer, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming individuals and communities. I have provided consultation and trainings on the effects and resolution of secondary trauma in institutional settings, and LGBTQ wellness.
